AUSTRALIAN APPRENTICESHIPS CENTRE
AGA runs a network of Australian Apprenticeships Centres (AACs), which offer assistance to the public on any apprenticeship or traineeship matter. We provide these services under contract, on behalf of the Australian Government.
Our AAC field staff visit apprentices and employers in the workplace and provide a free, impartial advice and support service. We can do this throughout Victoria and Australia.
AAC services include:
- Advising apprentices, trainees and employers on the apprenticeship system and specific qualifications;
- Assisting in the sign up of apprentices into the Training Contract which formally commences their apprenticeship;
- Explaining the rights and responsibilities of all parties involved in an Australian Apprenticeship;
- Advising employers and apprentices on their entitlement to State and Commonwealth government incentives;
- Processing the payment of all government incentives to apprentices and employers;
- Monitoring the progress of apprenticeships and providing free advice and support to employers throughout the course of each apprenticeship;
- Providing advice to schools, industry groups, communities and individuals about the Australian Apprenticeship system;
- Marketing and promotion of apprenticeships to the public.
These services are not restricted to the trades we offer employment in as a group training organisation, but include every industry and trade.
AGA has been successfully operating as an Australian Apprenticeships Centre since the commencement of this system in 1997. Our services as an AAC provider are subject to strict performance criteria and independent auditing. AGA undergoes regular auditing of our AAC services and is consistently recognised by the Australian Government as an outstanding provider of AAC services to the community.
For apprentices and employers wishing to enter into an apprenticeship arrangement, you will need an AAC representative present at the signing of the Training Contract.
If you would like advice or assistance from our AAC team, please give us a call at any time on (03) 9613 6700.
