Training
AGA is a Registered Training Organisation (or RTO). We are accredited by the Australian Government to deliver industry based training which results in a nationally recognised trade qualification.
AGA originally gained RTO accreditation so that we could train our own apprentices in a way which complemented their placement with our host employers. Our apprentices benefit from small training groups and access to integrated training (particularly in building trades, where electricians, plumbers and carpenters train together on the same projects).
Our employers have active input in the training process and can negotiate a training plan and schedule that suits their business. We believe that regular contact with employers helps us to provide training which is industry driven and relevant to what the apprentice learns on-the-job in the workplace.

Flexibility

We are committed to delivering training that is practical in focus and has a strong emphasis on Occupational Health and Safety and the employability skills that modern industry expects.
AGA partners with local TAFE institutes and schools, and can develop programs specifically designed around:
- VET in Schools programs
- School based apprenticeships and
- Pre-vocational qualifications
Training can be structured to meet the needs of employers and students with a combination of off-the-job (trade school) and on-the-job (workplace based) delivery and assessment. Desired training scheduling is negotiated prior to commencing training.
Tuition Fees
Tuition fees are calculated according to the Ministerial Direction for Government funded training. Eligibility for Government subsidised training can be assessed at the time of enrolment.
Your Guarantee of quality
As a specialist in traditional trades, we pride ourselves on the quality of our industry training. Like all accredited RTO’s (including TAFE institutions), AGA must comply with the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and Victoria’s legislative and regulatory requirements, which ensures a consistent quality of training delivery. To request a copy of AGA’s most recent AQTF audit report, please contact the Training Manager, Phil Backman at p.backman@agaustralia.com.au
We are also an AS/ISO 9001:2008 Quality Endorsed Company and achieve consistently excellent results in independent training quality audits. However our strongest endorsement comes from the hundreds of employers whose apprentices are trained at AGA.
AGA’s training services are delivered with the support of funding from the Victorian and Australian governments. AGA can provide a full credit transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning at the time of enrolment for students with prior training or industry experience. Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
